Head to the Natsumatsuri Family Festival and join the fun at this annual summer celebration featuring Japanese and Japanese American performances, crafts, and activities.

The day’s line-up includes: the Little Kokeshi Doll reading, demonstration, and interactive Kokeshi Fashion Show with author/illustrator Sunny Seki. Musical performances by Kishin Daiko and Joyce Kwon With Memories On Their Backs dance theater performance by Voices Carry.

Plus basic taiko drumming and bon odori dance lessons. Free samples of saataa andaagii (Okinawan deep-fried pastries). And face-painting and fun crafts, making origami and the ever-popular Natsumatsuri paper hats.

Free admission all day to see At First Light: The Dawning of Asian Pacific America and Common Ground: The Heart of Community.
