The current Coronavirus pandemic has brought with it an incredible amount of stress for many parents and children alike. Parents are scrambling to adjust to home schooling while juggling work obligations, financial impacts, self-care needs and attending to their marriage. Coping with this exorbitant amount of stress requires solid listening and communication skills.    

Inspired by the pioneering work of Drs. John and Julie Gottman’s research-based approach to relationships, here are 4 steps to be an effective listener and deepen your emotional connection. The goal is to listen and make your partner feel understood, not to fix or change anything.
